Little River, TX
NE Ridger has it the same way as we see it HERE.

A long time ago some kind sole figured the soils here have the equivalent of 150 tons of high quality Ag Lime.
Forty years ago the local Research Center tried up to 9,000 lbs/A to cure Cotton Root Rot. Did not do much for the root rot or the pH.

The advantage of the AMS is it has the sulfur the crop needs. On my alfalfa I use K-mag for the Sulfur and the needed Magnetism,

Here we have more evaporation than precipitation and have little to no peculation.
With 6% free lime (calcium carbonate ) how much calcium will this equal to in 2,000,000 lbs of soil? Adding sulfur or sulfate to all that calcium results in calcium sulfate aka gypsum. Applying gypsum on a Calcareous soil is a zero sum game.

Now if his is not a calcareous soil then possibly mitigation is possible. Here we just work with our soil rather than trying to have soil just like they have at Missouri.

As much as I like blueberries they will never grow HERE, East Texas yes but not in Central Texas
