Central NE | swenzel - 1/5/2014 12:13 To oil the chains on hydraulic drive planter while planter is in the air I do the following:
1. Change speed input from gps to manual and enter a value of say 5 mph.
2. Unplug implement switch near module and insert the "dummy" plug which is basically just a jumper wire between two pins. This let's the system "think" that the planter is in the ground even though it is raised up in air. Ag leader includes this dummy plug with certain kits. If you lose it its not the end of the world - you can make a new one or simply use a jumper wire.
3. Specify some seeding rate other than zero for hydraulic drives.
4. Last I turn swath control off.
After you are done make sure you go back to 1. and 2. and 4. and return everything back to the way it was before.
Very cool. I have that jumper or "dummy" plug you describe, which I was referring to above. This is what I was wanting. Thank You. |
