JD, FD-75 has heavier drives, nothing wrong with a FD-70 there were updates for FD-70, need a good Mac-Don tech show you how to set it up, also header gear speed need to meet feed house speed for you machine, no big deal, change sprockets. Yes you will need adapter plate kit, normally comes with all parts you need, problem I see here is product support, all OEM'S have there own head and push them, my landlord has 3 S690's with JD drapers I have rode on machine, run it, very impressed, cut just as low as a Mac-Don, he raises a lot of edible beans, guess what I am saying demo each one, then make your decision, Scott.
