I would not see why you could not do this especially if you have the plates just run a higher air pressure.
As for tricks to planting flats go with the medium sized flats and run the plate smaller and turn the air pressure way up is what my white dealer told me and it seems to work better and this year I am going to try using that e-flow stuff and see if it helps
