We used to have a 6 row 7000 and it had drive chains on all 4 wheels. Then we got the 12 row and it drove the seed transmission with 2 wheels and had a separate clutch and 2 drive wheels for the fertilizer. I think the 2 wheel system is just for insurance to make sure the transmission never misses a beat.
