Can't add much to what Ed said.

Excel is Excel ..

The benefit of Quote.com (Live Chart) is you can get the data in the Excel format for many time frames ..
no need to do anything but copy/paste it into a worksheet .. that do whatever with it.
The downside is you have to continue to update it that way.

Much of the other data I download wants to be in the .csv format.

Excel has SO many functions, it's very hard to explain them on a web board, with out knowing exactly your trying to do.

It may also make a difference as to the Excel version your using.

Who ever said this was easy? PIA is more like it.

If your near a college, or a high school, that has classes for Excel it may be very worth while to take one. (or 12)
I could have saved many hours of stumbling around learning Excel (still do) had I done that.
