The instructions that came with the unit said a 6 row requires both drive wheels on one side of the planter. I think dry fertilizer attachment could be adapted with no problem. Give Bob Jamison a call. Real nice, helpful guy. I'm sure he could answer your questions. He told me he had 7-800 of these units out in a lot of different configurations.
