Subject: Re: Are all Challenger MT 765 Steer Ready?

I just bought a 2002 MT765 that was not auto steer ready. It did have the harness installed in the cab, but was missing the translator ecm which mounts underneath the seat, and the fuse block that would be the lowest and farthest forward one under the cover on the right side of the cab.
I had to install the harness that has the ISO coupler at the back of the tractor, then runs under the cab and plugs into the cab harness, and then runs farther forward and to the frame for grounds. I also installed the translator ecm and the fuse block which was easy with already having the plugs there to plug into them. The translator ecm was the expensive part.......think around $2000. And I had to have my dealer program the computer once the translator ecm was installed. I'm running Outback EdriveX with an S3 for auto steer. Got the cable to hook it up to the tractor from my Outback dealer for $50. I wouldn't be afraid of one that's not auto steer ready if price is right. The cab harness would be a pain to install IMHO.
