Thank you all for the explanations and links. I've been sick in bed most of the day and haven't had a chance to read through it all yet, but will work on it.

So, John, do I understand you correctly, that if currency was relatively fixed in supply, then as the economy or population expands, by default products,services, wages etc. would just have to go down to keep everything in balance, but would never be a constraint on growth?
