We have one at the rear of the bed, sitting on a wood pallet. Ahead of the tool box is another box with essential stuff, grease gun, trouble light etc. Use a fork lift to remove the whole thing when needed. The newer pickup truck sides make it difficult to reach over the sides for anything.
