Skipper - Most are black but I've got a white one for a reason. See things better inside and fully intend to mark sizes on the pegs. Also going to copy Metric and SAE comparison table on the lid-----------some day??
I have a black one and I would vote for white.  Mine got so hot inside it softened a less expensive (I don't buy cheap ones) screwdriver handle so much it bent.  It was just touching the box, but that still takes a bit of heat.  I like the idea of white for all the reasons Skipper gave.

My winter employer got a new service truck one time and had the bed painted to match.  Painter thought he was doing a good thing and painted the boxes black inside to complement the color scheme of the truck.  You couldn't find anything inside those black boxes, even with lights mounted in it.
