| Those are nice backhoe's. I have a straight 426. The be series had several updates over mine. I would take a good hard look at the bushings and play on the pivot points. The good thing on the CAT units is all the pivots points have bushings so these can be replaced fairly easy if need be. The next thing I would look at is the hydraulic hoses. With that many hours there are most likely many that might need some attention. That can add up quickly depending on condition. Cylinder rams are also big, sometimes they get all scared up from abuse. Lastly get the hoe up to good operating temperature and make sure your torque converter and clutch packs are good. There are 2 clutch packs, 1 forward and 1 reverse. In 1st gear you should be able to go into a pile of dirt and spin both tires with the diff lock on. I just finished pretty much a complete restoration of mine back this summer. There were not too many bolts left un-turned. | |
