Manitoba, Canada | I don't know much about them really. I had a 2470 with a good drivetrain till recently when an oil line came off the injection pump and it lost the oil. The motor seemed very solid and started great in the cold. I only used it for stationary PTO work so have no idea about the field performance. Mine was past the point that it would be comfortable to use in the field. The 70 series had a mechanical linkage to the valves that controlled the rear steering. Later versions had sensors. I was told that the mechenical version was relatively safe but when a sensor malfunctioned on the later series it had been known to steer the rear wheels to the stops. Apparently this was scary when travelling down the road so maybe slow transport speed is not a bad thing after all. | |
