Make sure you have a closed center tractor to run planter if you switch. If you plant at 4.5 to 5 mph either planter will be a copy cat of each other. If you stay with finger planter-use medium round seeds & you'll be at 98 to 99%, using flat seed & you'll be at 90 to 92% accurate, according to past seed belt testing. In my opinion vac & finger are about the same at 5 mph. Another factor is your transmission for seed population-here you'd be better trading up to a 7200 or newer planter to get better at population settings, your limited staying with your 7000 & your seed shaft is a lot lighter than the newer JD planters.
