Well that will be the main uses for it. No heavy tillage for it. Maybe a turbo though and if it's big enough they pull plenty hard.


DEF use is directly related to how hard you work the engine. The SCR system uses the DEF to reduce the NOX emissions. NOX emissions are higher when the engine is working hard and making heat/power. That is a good thing, it means its running efficient and burning all of the fuel, however the NOX emissions get out of hand.  The SCR system doesn't really care it just adjusts the DEF dosing as needed.  The reaction takes place and NOX is reduced to H20 and Hydrogen for the most part. 

Some earlier systems just used an algorithm to calculate DEF dosing, most newer systems all use NOX sensors to adjust the DEF dosing in real time.
