Ben most seed stock guys would agree a virgin long yearling bull that's never been turned out , say one that's been on feed then wont make the sale is some of the best beef you can eat, they swear they would choose over a fat steer. back to your question, if he hasn't ever been turned out, feed him till he's got the fat you want, if he has bred : (
