Subject: Re: Steel fertilizer spreader box

My New Leader box is 20+ years old painted steel, I had to refab 6 gussets towards the rear my box from rust, either thin or cracked, but the rest of the box is very solid. I am hoping to sandblast mine and paint this Winter, and make it look nice again. Check your web , drives and idlers, and the spinners / hyd system. Mine cleans out good, but after a good coat of paint, I think I am going to install a poly liner. As of now, I'll never go back to a pull type spreader again, its just so much faster, especially on the road, and better floatation out in the field.
I'll add this, if I was to build a new truck up, it will be stainless, but if you can clean them up good and do a good job of maintenance when you are done, they will last a long time.
