As you are in Wisconsin this 2 works could be helpful for you.
On next link see page 8 Table 8 with a guide to know how recommendations are done in Wisconsin.

and on this read the first 13 pages it is very interesting, they assume 18 lbs/ac of P2O5 is necessary to increase P test by 1 ppm.

With these works now you could imagine why your co-op told you to use 340 lbs/ac to cover removal and build up.
