The hatred runs deeper than the football teams. Here you have an agriculture school (OSU) and a traditional, conservative political ideal and then you have the ultimate liberals/progressives at Oregon.
When I lived there, the student body at Oregon were protesting on television over the latest liberal fad about every time you turned around. The viewing public most places north of Eugene grow weary of the charades and eventually sick to their stomach of it. On the occasion when the usual underdog Beavers put a whooping on the usually nationally ranked Ducks, there is pandemonium in the streets! | |
