JD made some great tractors, I grew up on a MH 44 and a COOP E3. Everybody around us had those great 2 lung tractors. They made a great sound when they got pulled down when pulling a plow. I always thought they would die when pulled down in rpms in the black ground, then came back to life. My Dad had a B during WWII that he somehow got the $ to buy new. The paint went to heck and the dealer repainted it for him. Seems there was no green paint to be found. Dad told him, " go ahead and paint it IH RED". They did. Many a IH and JD fan were mad about that, whish I could have that tractor in my barn just for fun!
My best JD is my 78 6600 combine!
