This makes sense if they would initiate flow exactly the same.
Yes, that would be my concern. Even though the units are identical I doubt that they would react exactly the same. I believe it is likely that one side would be applying more than the other. The total going through the flowmeter might be correct but the split between the two halves may not be identical.
