Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I'm disappointed to hear of your problems with GeoSteer. I debated about what to do for steering on my new 8310R. I've been a user of Ag Leader products from the beginning.
For several years I've used a steering unlocked Insight with a Trimble Nav II running on XP for planting. The new 8310R will be pulling a larger planter and I wanted an Ag Leader display to work with seed sections, population monitoring, starter fertilizer monitoring and spray control. I could have used the Deere system for steering but was advised to go with GeoSteer. I have been using it for tillage operations with WAAS with expected results. My plan is to activate Omni XP for the planting season.
Hopefully I will not experience the problems that you have. I have noticed a loss of WAAS while out in the middle of a field on two occasions. On these occasions I was clearly out in the open so trees or other obstacles were not part of the problem. |
