We've owned both. My 360 I had would pull more than it could tow. The 318 was a bit more peppy. I like the 360 for working. Those are good motors. You will possibly hear them tick though. We always just ran 15 40 oil in them and it quieted them down
I don't know how cold winters are but it'll start a tad slower when running that oil. If you service the tranny and don't drive it like a race car the automatics will serve you well.
