Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | Right now the ethanol producers are trying to make up some lost production from last year and out produce each other to make as much money as possible given the cheap corn. But the real test will come when they get close to the mandate level later next year. If they keep producing right through the mandate ceiling especially if the price of corn recovers a little that should be a good sign for the future of ethanol. If it stalls, not so good.
My question is: does the ethanol produced now, 2013 count in 2013 or 2014? I would guess it counts when it is blended. The other question is: how much of this current production is being exported. If ethanol exports are healthy that should be a very good sign because the exports don't count toward the mandate, right?
