it is a corn earworm. but dont let the name fool you, it will eat soy, corn or cotton. major problem that showed up last year in bahia and has now spread to the whole country. they have declared a state of emergency in order to get in the needed insecticides. This has the potential to be a big problem but it appears as though there is lots of spraying occuring to keep it at bay. no spray = no crop is what i hear.
