Back to your original question, a mible base has everything (receiver, gps antenna and radio in one package. The tower base has the Receiver and gps antenna in one box and the radio in another with a cable going between the two.
I have had a mobile base on my grain leg for the last 3 years hooked up to a high gain 900mhz antenna.
