We used to run swaths 1 foot less than boom coverage, now it is at 6 inches. This is with autosteer, and a 332 Trimble receiver. I will also stop at halfway through a field and go to the other side and start back. The 332 on beacon is good enough so that there will not be a skip or overlap when I get back to the center of the field (this will not work with our other gps units). I now know exactly what the acres will be (with an air spreader you can only turn off half of the swath and on a 1/2 mile long field this is about 1.6 acres) and can make a small calibration adjustment instead of a bigger one at the last few passes. We normally get a load of fertilizer (with weight ticket) and are told to fit it to the field.
