roaming | some do charge in the socket, but others have replaceable batteries instead. If you have a replaceable battery, you should be able to remove it and test it, or just replace it with a new one. If you have a rechargeable kind, you might have to just try a different card; I'm not sure if there is a realistic way to test them.
EDIT: I was just reminded that the YM2000 should tell you if the battery is bad. So maybe that's not your issue after all.
What firmware version is in your YM2000?
Can you reformat the card in your computer?
