NW IN | We are on our second northstar. Got the new elite series with the end row augers. Only hiccups were the outside rows needed to have a notch cut in the sheet metal or the gathering chain would bind and shear the vertical shaft out of the gearbox. Also, several of the nuts holding the top sprockets for the gathering chains would work loose and the chain would stop. Fixed with a little thread locker and no more problems. Overall we are happy with it. Very stout components and low maintenance. Loved the end row augers as they made 60 ac of down corn much more bearable. The engineering dept fell a little short in regards to the outside row chains but they did alert our dealer before we found out the hard way. | |
