Missouri | It's entirely possible that would be the outcome, without in depth knowledge or first hand experience with their steering system, I can't say.
The yield monitor systems on the newer S series combines, however, work in exactly the same manner at the hypothetical scenario I proposed. You unhook them (flow sensor & moisture system) from the Deere wiring, plug them into adapter cables, and then into the Ag Leader yield system cabling. There's then a process on the deere display where you change some settings to tell the system those components have been "removed", although I think that may be less a matter of a coincidence, and more likely a system that was purposely designed to have that functionality. I think there could be a possibility the steering system could work in a similar manner. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say the most likely sticking point would be the wheel angle sensors. I would expect a strong possibility they might not output a signal that is compatible with the Ag Leader steering system. Even if it worked, you would still have the drawback of having a highly customized installation, and would thus be on your own for tech support issues. | |
