I guess for me the seeding seemed easier because up until this spring all of the variables were constant across my fields same fertilizer rates, same seed rates however certain spots always yield better than others=better soil/drainage. So those are the areas that I increased my population in. I didn't get wild but bumped it up a few thousand.

I am not familiar with SMS but it seems to me that you need a program that will look at soil samples and build a Rx to correct deficiencies then look at yield data and build a Rx to replace crop removal. Then combine the two maps into one Rx.
