Subject: NOT TRUE!!!

We in the east side of the Chesapeake Bay watershed are a large poultry producing area but the manure generated is a valuable commodity. In some areas you are allowed outside storage of litter until it is used the following spring (there many restrictions to fall/ winter spreading here - soil nitrate levels, type of crops/etc). U of Del. has done studies showing litter stored outside if piled and peaked correctly has an extremely small loss of nutrients. Never hear of anyone here going bankrupt and leaving piles of manure. You have been misinformed. Yes, Old Pokey sometimes I do feel like we are living in "little california".... if that is what you meant.
