The middle of Maryland's Eastern Shore
THAT IS 1000 % FALSE. In case you cannot tell that statement about manure piles really ticks me off. It is a valuable commodity out here. Most people assume every pile is chicken manure. The former sec.of ag in Maryland had a reporter ask him about a pile of "manure" stored out side on his farm. He had to explain to them that it was actually lime. Another person was turned in for a pile of "manure" and it turned out to be mulch. A family farm and the Perdue chicken company were sued be river keepers for stock piling manure outside supposedly too close to a ditch leaking nutrients in to a river. It was actually treated sewage sludge from the resort town of Ocean City. Dept of Ag tested it was fine. Still the river keepers put this family through living he.. This is what we are fighting out here.
