Subject: It is all in your point of view.

Little River, TX

Brermudagrass is loosing it's weed status due to its acceptance as a pasture, hay, recreational turf, and sweeping lawn grass. It is still a weed in the cotton fields.

DR. Barron Rector, of TAMU Fame tells me alfalfa is a weed. But to a range specialist anything that is not native range forage is a weed. So I am not an alfalfa grower I am a weed manager using alfalfa as the weed of choice.

People plant a small grain in their alfalfa as a nurse crop.  That small grain is simply choosing their weed of choice. Something that is easier to control than johnsongrass.

For a good 60 years I was convinced that wild mustard is a bad weed. Turns out people plant mustard for cover crops. Now I have a more benign opinion of wild mustard. Might even buy some mustard seed to improve the local breed. J

Your Logic is Flawless.
