Subject: Re: Stray Voltage

NW Illinois Stephenson county
Also a friend built a new dairy set-up and was unable to escape stray voltage. He has a monitoring system to track the voltage 24/7. He fixed up his old stanchion barn for calves and he could not keep the calves alive, so bought some calf hutches and now his calves are doing great. He also heard of guys expanding and then had stray voltage. End of the power line, a gravel pit, near a gas pipeline ( they run some current through it to stop corrosion of the pipe, even manure lagoons can cause problems as they get fuller. One guy built a big dairy and he lost his farm due to stray voltage. Just before the cows went, someone had an accident on a main road and knocked over a power pole and his stray voltage disappeared. Ther are gradiants (differences in electrical potentials) leading back to the generating station (thay use earth as their ground). Even Amish farms can have stray voltage even though they don't use electricity. You are not alone.
