Placement and the form the nutrients are in would be a good start. Of course everyone knows PH affects available nutrients but most of the time our soils are limited. Cover crops are a big one as well. Instead of having fallow ground we can speed up the mineralization process and stimulate soil life.
How to access more nutrients from applied P & K?
