I'm assuming the quote from your trimble rep is for autopilot not ez steer as the price you have is the msrp of the platform kit for 6r's and a NAV controller. Going trimbles route will allow you to use VRS in the future if you'd like to get to subinch accuracy for RTK. NC's CORS network is very good and you have no subscription cost besides the data plan for the modem. With deere you will be stuck with radio RTK which doesn't do well with the geography of NC. I understand the rats nest of wires but that comes back to the competency and pride of the installer.
