Couple things.

I would recommend your clearance between the top of the paddle and the bottom of the deflector plate to be between 3/8 and 1/2. More than 1/2 is too much.

Is your deflector plate in good shape? It needs to be flush against the back of the elevator and nice and level toward the front part. Check to make sure you have a spacer block installed between the top of the Ag Leader deflector plate and the bottom of the top of the elevator (hope that makes sense).

Maybe I missed it, but you need to calibrate the yield monitor with the same scale that you check it against later on. Two different scales can provide differing opinions on weight.

As you are already aware, adjusting the tension at the bottom should have zero effect on your calibration
