| If your EZ-Guide Plus has enough satellites to work and then drops when you try to engage it's likely power related.
If you have a cigarette lighter in the system get rid of it and wire it in directly to a solid power source that isn't tied in with anything else. If it's still acting up check the connection under the EZ-Guide Plus that your power connection goes into. That black 4-pin connection should not wiggle. If you can move it with your fingers, you likely have a poor interior connection on the circuit board.
If that's good and clear, check the cable going into it for cracks and damages. I've seen a few of those cables act up after being bent at sharp angles for years. Should all that test ok I would look at your EZ-Steer controller next. Power with this particular setup comes from the power source, into the EZ-Steer controller, and then to the EZ-Guide Plus. It is possible that when you engage your system there is a power dip from starting up the motor that robs the EZ-Guide plus of just enough power that it loses it's satellite information. The screen may or may not flicker off when this happens.
Hope that helps! | |
