NW Iowa
We have a shop that rebuilds gearboxes...take your broken row unit in and pick up a rebuilt unit. Not sure if he is still doing this or not. Bearings are new not sure on gears. Usually new chains and guides on the unit. Cost is whatever it takes to fix the one you brought in. We've had a few of them over the years and have been happy with them. We have a hand full of spare row units around now so we will just swap them out and rebuild the broken ones as time permits.
