Sorry......Didn't finish my thought on the copper button, There should be no discoloration to that at all, nice and new penny colored! If it is anything different that's the problem. Also try calibrating the temperature, if it cals to "normal" temperature, sit there and watch, if it climbs of drops steadily, the sensor is def bad!
