WC MO | Both of you are correct. The 1982 D numbers are right, and the 580SE number is an extremely early 1983 which was the first year of production, beginning at 9075919.
Case L/B serial numbers are calendar year, not production year, in other words when they change model numbers in september or october like the car companies they may or may not begin a new sequence of numbers.
Your SE being early 83 should have the dry brakes and the internal parking brake. In 84 the transaxle changed to the parking brake on the input shaft.
