New Brunswick, Canada | Kubota is bad for keeping multiple filter listings. For mine the first number the come back with at the dealer is a 40$ one that is stubby. If you press the parts guy he clicks something and number for the normal tall filter for 12$ pops up that they also keep in stock. I bet 9/10 people buy the expensive stubby one with less filter area.

I needed an engine oil filter for the first oil change on my new Kubota. Was in the big city and needed some other stuff so I stopped at the nearest O'Reilly's.
Parts man looked up the filter, they didn't have one but computer showed another O'Reilly store in town did. Made it to dealer before 5:30 closing time and picked up a genuine Kubota filter for $38.
Didn't need another filter but O'Reilly folks had been so helpful I made a trip back into town during rush hour to the other store and bought their Wix 51714 filter for $18.
The genuine Kubota filter is made in Indonesia. The Wix filter is made in USA. I'm thinking for future reference, grawlix the OEM filters. |
