Alden and Osage, IA | I always recommend going direct to the battery. It helps with getting constant power so you aren't going through a bunch of solenoids or OEM fuse boxes. If you take the back plastic panel off (below the back window), you can drill an access hole in the back, black plastic in the lower right hand corner. The panel comes off by loosening 4, bolts with a 10mm wrench. I drill a 1 3/8" hole, bring my power and GPS cables in, then use a grommet to seal it up and put my panel back on. You only need about 8-12" of power cable inside the cab. Coil the rest up outside below the cab.
You will need to remove the upholstery behind the seat to bring your cables in and make your connections. There is lots of room behind the upholstery to hid as much cable as you want. This is the same way I bring cables in on all 8000 and 9000 tractors. 8R's and 9R's are similar but you need to be much more careful when drilling your hole. | |
