you need at least a 1MB card for mapping. The 256KB card is ok for summary data logging only.
Since this is a new unit to you, I would suggest performing a NEWBOX procedure. Your dealer can provide instructions, though it may be a trick to find a compatible computer now. If you can't do the NEWBOX, it's no big deal, but it's basically a factory reset so you know you're starting fresh.
