Not sure if is still the case, but on the iPad 3 the only way to get the built in gps receiver was to get the Cellular Model. You don't need that function for Precision Products in the cab, but if you intend to take it out scouting stand alone, you will need it. That said, although mine is a cell model, I use it with a US Cell hotspot as Verizon coverage here is terrible.
