cattrack i would generally agree with what you posted,but here are a couple things we have found,"that the newkid on the block"are trying to address that we see with our present yield monitor.we have seen some pretty glaring errors in hybrid to hybrid relationships,for example last year we harvested a new hybrid that the yield monitor said was 30-40 bushels less than the adjoining one,my combine operator thought this was incorrect so we did yields checks via the scale on the auger wagon,and it was 10-15 bu. more than the next hybrid, 30-50 bu difference,yet the whole field total ended up .3% off of the scaled weight.for me total weight is important.but are having a tough time believing what the yield map is telling us for differences from hybrid to hybrid.my dekalb rep told me a story not too long ago about a hybrid that is still popular that if they believed yield monitor data on it's performance it would have never beeen brought forward.
