I believe it is because of trade value, I bought a new 4WD Versatile last year. The tractor I grew up driving which was originally my dads is a Steiger bear-cat. Lets say you can get 15k back for a tractor from the mid to late 80s. You just spent 175K-275K on a new one. The extra 15K is not taking the bite out much and its always nice to have a back up for huge push times.
Can you explain used machinery prices?
