If your on 38/19" rows i'd space them out to 19". Center the first nozzle on boom then go from their for a total of 39 nozzles. Put half rate on the tips if you think you can drive pretty good (rows to follow), full rate if you don't think you can (no rows). You could get by with 38 if you never wanted the ability to run drops for chemical or nitrogen.

With 39 nozzles that outside nozzle should double back on itself if you are taking exactly 19 rows. Now 19 rows doesn't divid into any common planter size but if boom is 60', might as well use what you got. If you wanted to follow planter tracks you would be ideal to have sprayer 3x the width of your planter. You could always extend the boom a little on each end to 24 rows if you have 8 row planter. You would have to add about 8' on each side, just an idea.

I don't see any problems running 19" nozzles besides being little tricky figuring what pressure to run if your manual rate control but once you figure it out once shouldn't be a problem. Just an idea.
