Subject: Ez-Guide 500

We have been trying out an older/used EZ-Guide 500 system that the local grain growers were offering to sell for us for around $3500 which would include the auto-steer and such but currently the only thing hooked up is the light bar. The tractor we would hook it up in is a 1990 Ford 946 Versatile, the system were trying out is fairly old it appears and all of the buttons are rubbed off so you can't read them. Is it even worth the hassle to hook up that system or should we be look at a newer system? We farm about 2000 acres of dryland with varying conditions of steepness and field shapes. I would eventually like to get into fertilizer rate control and sectional booms but for now I'm thinking just starting with straight lines would be enough. Any tips on where to start?
